Leggings Are Not Pants

Leggings are not pants. They are never pants. You may think you can get away with wearing leggings with a long shirt, and you can: to go to the mall or your niece’s birthday party. But pairing leggings with a blazer or dress shoes doesn’t mean you should wear them in any professional setting.

It’s true that a snazzy blazer can dress up a pair of leggings for weekend wear but this also means that leggings make a blazer look less professional at work. Save the leggings for casual wear* and opt for a skirt or slacks at the office.

*Note: Leggings are only acceptable when worn with a long shirt or a short skirt.
